I've picked up an AE that I'm told is a 1906 it has the characteristics. But I'd like to know what to look for in markings?
I'm new to posting on this forum but have been following for a while. Last edited by CRob; 02-04-2018 at 06:07 AM. |

it is a 1906 - should be a 5 digit - and assume your spell check meant characteristics (which I misspell every time)
Assume its 7.65mm (30 luger) and not 9mm luger. Its a DWM made, 1906 (collectors call it that), grip safety model with a "Germany" export marking (kind of bright marking) and the 'american eagle' on the receiver

Yep, commercial 1906. probably in .30 cal. Looks good from here with no signs of alteration. What else did you need?

I noticed the halo on Germany but none on the serial number! Is this correct?

Thank you for the information and yes it is a 7.65mm. Is there a list of were to find all the numbers to see if it's number matching? My other Luger is a 1920 commercial 9mm with a replica 6" barrel.

I'd search the FAQ's for a specific list, but it will be the usual cast of characters, minus the magazine.
Nice gun! dju |
