Default Another New Guy and His New DWM

Hello All, brand new guy here, not so new on a few other Forums.

I have owned a few P08's in the past but I sold them in the Great Collection Divorce sell off a few years back. I have been rebuilding and felt the urge to get another P08. I spent some time looking at GB and various on line sellers to get the feel of what was on the ,market and todays prices. I started looking at one P08 in particular, a very nice 1918 DWM, located in Wheeling WV. It looked to be in original finish, nice original blue and straw, appeared all matching with one matching magazine. It included a 1914 holster that I would rate as being in relic condition. After spending a couple of weeks looking and comparing I decided to make the purchase. I have a C&R and it was delivered to the house today. It is a very nice, almost 100 years old P08! The gun is better then I thought that it would be. It is all matching, grips included. It has a very fine bore. It looks like it had not seen the light of day for a very long time. It is very dry, just the hint of oil in a couple of spots. I am looking forward to cleaning it up and taking it to the range. Now I might need another P08 for a shooter, this one might be a tad too nice.

A little finish wear on the front strap

and a little on the back strap

At least my 1905 C96 will have some company

The WW1 Imperial German section of the collection

Hi Tom,
Welcome to the forum! Your 1918 DWM P08 looks very nice indeed. If you are planning on shooting it you should, at the very least, save that matching mag and use a cheap modern replacement.

It is indeed a nice one and I wouldn't shoot it. Welcome to the forum. Bill

Welcome to the forum. It is always nice when a gun arrives and it is better than you thought it would be. It looks to be a very nice Luger, so congrats on your purchase.

Welcome to the Forum!
Your new Luger is a great addition. Together with the C96, the Kar98 and the G98 it makes a very nice WWI German collection.
Congratulations!
