Default GT's DWM Style Wood Bases

I wanted to show off some amazing work GT did for me.

Had him install his DWM style wood bases and upgraded springs in three mags.
I am blown away by the build quality of the pins and bases.
He also repaired some damage on the second mag from the left.
(It was badly deformed around the pin holes)

I placed an original DWM mag on the far left for comparison.
As you can see they are spot on.
He had great communication and turn around time too.

I shot 250 rounds through them yesterday with no malfunction of any kind.
I am going to send him a couple more tomorrow.

GT has done three mags for me with the wood bases and his "whiz-bang" springs, and I could not be more pleased. Your mags look great.

Sounds good! The bottom blew out on one of my Mec Gar mags earlier this year and fortunately the spring and follower weren't lost in the grass of the backyard range. Good thing I hadn't ordered the new bottom yet!

So, should we mail our patients directly to G.T.'s hospital?

Default mag bottom availability

Hello to all! I have just finished a bunch of magazine bottoms identical to the DWM type shown earlier in this thread! But, in filling back orders, I have a very few left and these are in reserve for mag repair? BUT, I just sent Lugerdoc a dozen of these excellent bottoms and you can access them thru him... I'm not sure how many more I will make, if any?.... .... these are some of the best I have ever made?... Best to all, til....lat'r....GT...

I also have other GT marked wood mag bottoms at slightly higher prices than the unmarked ones: GERMANY marked, Concentric circle navy type, CAL 9m/m marked and just a couple of the Swiss type with the metal inserts on both sides. TH

Pardon my ignorance, but what makes a "DWM style" wood magazine base different from any other Luger wood magazine base???

They are made with magical DWM wood. (Sorry, couldn't resist.) I am actually interested in knowing the answer to this question as well, I did not know different manufacturers had different style magazine bases. That's why I read this forum, to learn this kind of stuff!

Erfurt adds one or two letter with crown on the base , two since 1915 and one after , the wood is a little-little more large too

Default same only different!

Hi to all, Patrice has it pretty much nailed down and the pictures show the difference! One of the major differences is the radius on the external rim of the knobs? DWM is approx. 3/32" radius (more rounded) and Erfurt is approx. 1/16 radius.. (sharper) This gives the appearance of longer dimension across the bottom as well as the Erfurt bottoms almost always exceed the print... Almost all Erfurt bottoms are quite dark as well.. There are probably more differences, but these are the ones I try to address when filling a customers order.... Best to you, til....lat'r.....GT

Nobody knows rosettes like G.T.

The finished product is very high quality. Nice to be able to revive a good magazine, specialty pieces and working knowledge are the key, It sure shows in the final results.

G.T.,
Received my magzines with the Cal 9m/m wooden bottoms today; they are gorgeous. You did a great job on the bottoms and on removing a couple of dents to the magazines. Thank you for your talents.

Erfurt and DWM magazine tubes are also different in detail.

I just got three from G.T. and they are prettier than the Luger they're going with.
