Talking I doubled my Luger collection!

Yes, I bought my second Luger …and thus doubled my collection. Woo hoo!

I am now the proud owner of a numbers matching, 1942 Black Widow and 1942 military holster. I am so excited.

I purchased a “rig” from one of the forum members, MikeB. Mike was extremely helpful and expedient in resolving some initial issues. The left grip was warped and the holster required some repair work. Mike immediately sent me a replacement original Bakelite grip and he sent the holster off for repair work to Jerry Burney, another forum member that MikeB said was the best in the business. I hope to get the holster back soon.

Here are some of the photos of my new Luger.

Oh, my. My sincere condolences on your severe illness- you may never recover.

But as long as you are "sick", nice start!

Don,
My most sincere apologies. I had no intention of exposing you to such an incurable disease. The really bad symptoms of this ailment, is the more you acquire, the more you want. But who am I telling you about disease; you are exposed to disease and cure everyday.

Mike

It gets better with time... and a few more acquisitions...

Kidding aside, nice Lugers! Congratulations... Marc

Thanks folks.

As to what comes next, well, I think I will need an artillery model. yes, one of those with the wooden stock and those funky long holsters. That would be next, but I am not in a hurry as I have so much to enjoy with these two that I bought in as many months. This passion just started in April.

Say, I forgot to include a pic of the two primo mags that came with the 1942. Here you go.

Now you need to get a "real" Luger made before 1919.

ok, I've read a similar comment elsewhere on the forum, but I don't understand what makes a pre-1919 "real". Please explain.

Eugene, DWM and Erfurt stopped manufacturing Lugers then. Roughly, DWM was re-structured to become BKIW, and Erfurt tooling was taken over post-WWI by Simson. Thus, the "original" manufacturers were supplanted by different entities. This is why some consider everything made afterward to be reproductions!

To me Erfurts are already reproductions of the Luger.

You probably read it in my "signature"...If it is made after 1918 it is a reproduction...

Ron you may have to correct your tag line to read: "If it is made by anybody other than DWM, it is a reproduction."
