Default Pre-set sights.

The artillery luger has adjustable sights, the Navy has 100/200 meter sights. At what distance did the factory anticipate the P08 being sighted in at? Height of front sight and sight picture using rear sight must have some distance in mind!

As I recall they were initially set for 100 meters and then I think it was in 1913 (or 1916?) they raised the front sight by 0.5mm to bring the range down to 50 meters. Don't rermber details as well as I should.

Hi Hugh, When the P08 was introduced it was sighted in at 100 meters. In 1913 this was changed to 50 meters and earlier guns were retrofitted with a taller front sight blade at the same time as they were retro fitted with the hold-open.
Regards, Norm
