This 1917 L P 08 is new to me, but may have been seen here before as it came from another board member.
If you have seen it , just skip on by. Serial number 4342 e, with Weimar era grip marking of : I./R.46. , which has been interpreted as 1st Battalion of infantry Regiment 46 (staff). Holster is dated 1915, modified by adding a magazine pouch and a flap extension to the top to cover same. There is a small tag inside, marked to a different Regiment and owner than the pistol, but also in Weimar style; IV./A.R.8 Thanks for looking. |

That is a nifty holster! The extension to the top to cover the added magazine pouch is really out of the ordinary and very well done. The extension and the belt loop modification complement the Weimar markings on the gun and holster. I like it!

Neat looking rig! I don't think I've seen it here in last 6 years.
Kind of unusual to see a holster not intended for a shoulder stock. ![]()

Actually Rich, the holster was designed for a stock. The belt loops have been attached under the shoulder stock strap retainer... another innovative modification, like the additional magazine pocket...

Yes, while an original artillery rig type stock, its modification was intended for belt carry only.
A similar shortcut to belt carry was used on this Art'y holster modified to 4". |
