Default byf 41 655 with sear safety?

I have the chance to buy me a nice P.08
It is a byf41 with a blank Schmeisser police magazine?
It has the sear or Schiwy safety, but no police markings...?

What is this, anyone?
Sorry to say, i have no pics as we speak. The old owner is not capable to shoot and post some either...

Thanks!

What is the serial number and letter suffix. Police 41-byf Military Lugers were issued with 3-MM-122 magazine and no Police Eagle K, F, C or L marks.

Silvereagle,
I will get hold of the serial in a week or so.
Do you have a photo of that magazine 3-mm-122?

The 3-MM-122 magazine is simply the new extruded body type magazine that appeared in January of 1940. The magazine body is marked with the C.G. Haenel 122 code and a SE-37 acceptance mark. The magazine bottom is attached to the body with a center drilled base and attached with a concave pin. The 41-byf Luger with a sear safety was one of those 41 dated military Lugers that were authorized for shipment to the Police depot in Berlin by the Heerwaffenamt. Consequently, it did not display any Police marks, only the military acceptance and test proof marks. The 41-byf Police Luger is not found very often and will normally have the - o - or - p - letter suffix with the serial number. Good luck

Blank toggle train and no "Mauser" hump? Doesn't look like a byf41 to me. Looks more like a late 20s BKIW sneak Luger.

Lyn, he doesn't say, but I think these are stolen pictures as an example and I am guessing is not the luger in question....

The pictures you posted are from a commercial Luger dealer's site.

The picture you posted shows both the magazine and sear safeties.

If the Luger is the one pictured, I would use great care in inspecting it before buying.

If not, I would try and understand why they sent you pictures not relevant to the Luger being sold.

He states no pictures available, and he has not been back since the 28th.
However, I have made it where he gets notified now of a posting....

Hello again!
Sorry, i have been out of town, and i checked this byf41 P.08
Edward is correct, the picture is just an example and to show what i ment with the sear safety - sorry if you misunderstood...

This P.08 has the sear safety, and is in extremely good condition - serial is 3438 p
I think the deal is ok - pictures will come as soon as i get it...
