Hate to disagree, but according to historical records, Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, not on April 21.

The day was widely celebrated throughout Third Reich as such. Were they wrong? I guess HE knew when he was born.

It is sad that he was born at all, regardless of the date.

Ironic that the SS guard/accountant is just going to trial now, probably the last of these WW2 war crimes trials. And good riddance.

Default 70 years ago today - 25th April 1945 Liberation of Italy

April 25 is Liberation Day - Anniversario della Liberazione . This statutory holiday marks the liberation of Italy from Nazi and fascist rule in 1945, although the German troops retreating towards Germany continued to slaughter many innocent people at least until the end of April.
Then some sort of civil war between ex-partisans and ex-fascists continued for a long time after.
Still this country wouldn't be what it is today without the sacrifice of many thousands people that came to fight here in Europe and made the World a better place to live.
I'd love to be able to thank them indeed.
