Default Meanwhile, down at the Mexican Food for Guns Buyback Program...

The article showed a mound of junk, but occasional gems such as two 1928 Bergman SMGs, in excellent condition. This was the heartbreaker...

I would be more heartbroken about the Bergmans...

Years ago, there was a news short with Diane Feinstein showing off new manhole covers made from dozens of confiscated/evidence/turned-in handguns, rifles, and shotguns...She was bragging about how they would never be used for violence again...Not a word about how the money from their legal sale might have fed the hungry, or provided medicine for the homeless, or Kevlar vests for the police...

Here's more, including an image of the Bergmans.

Mexicans are having a field day gaming the system.

With knowledge of the way things work in Mexico and not actually seeing a picture of those Bergman SMGs being cut up. Perhaps some enterprising individual saved those historic weapons from the blowtorch.
One can only hope.

I'm sure some "Federal" down there has them on his office wall as we speak.

At the bottom of the article is a link https://homemadeguns.wordpress.com/ A blog about improvised guns is something that hadn't particularly crossed my mind, but I guess it figures. Some creative stuff. And some scarey stuff!
