I came across this byf 41 P.08. It is in a very good condition and with matching numbers. Perhaps nothing special, but exciting "Black Widow", in my opinion. (E/655. E/655.)

I found one of them last week...all matching numbers including the mag...VGUC.....I don't plan on selling it, but it would be nice to know the value

Apparently the definition "Black Widow" originally did no exist, it was a fantasy name sort of thing given to that sort of P.08 only several years later.

Yes, Collector/Dealer Ralph Shatuck is generally given credit for coining the phrase "Black Widow".
It helped sell those wartime Mausers that people generally thought were inferior back then because of the all-blued finish and bakelite grips. |
