the real worry is the broken edges of the breeach block.

the other swiss guns like this one on the simpson web site do not have the extractors stamped with numbers

Ordonnanzpistole 1900/06 did not have extractors with serial numbers stamped.

Looks like the breech block could be restored, no problem. But meantime, check to see if the conditions that caused it are still there. Not sure what could have fractured it in this way...

any idea on ball park for restoration of breech block alone?

Hi,

My local guy restored a breech block with the same problem on a Swiss 06/24 for around $50. He said he wouldn't guarantee it would hold as the metallurgy of the weld and breech are different. It looks nice, but I am not shooting it anymore.

It broke when I was firing some WWII German ammo back in the 60's and sat on a shelf till recently. I since found out that the WWII ammo was " fur maschinepistol ".

$50 sounds like a great deal. I'd allow for up to a couple hundred for the welding--and that would be a deal because of how I'd do it (see below), and if the micro-welding were much more expensive.

Ouch! The repair on the breech block could have used filler metal from a donor block that was beyond repair. It's not necessarily fast or cheap to forge your own filler rod, but I think worth it in a case like this. Did he re-blue after the repair was complete?
