Cool X-Ray pictures of guns
I was pondering earlier about x-raying one of my lugers and try and get a digital picture for my computer. I was just looking on line to see what was out there and here's some poor quality images of some firearms.
Doing the kind of work I do, I'm around radiography all the time. Mostly x-raying code welds on piping, vessels, boilers... Whatever they want I guess. But I noticed we have some x-ray tube heads, instead of the gamma x-ray method we usually use, in the shop. The x-ray tubes would give a whole lot crisper image than the other methods. But I was thinking of x-raying my navy luger and see how it turns out. But here's some cool x-rays I found on line. |

Maybe one from the top maybe being able to see the markings. Any specialpart you want xrayed let me know. I have a 1916 navy luger a 1900 AE that I was going to shoot. I know the AE has a small crack in the rear toggle, so maybe we can see it in the image. And maybe some internal inclusions of the older vintage lugers. It should be interesting regardless. And I'll post them all here for others to share we I do. |

I cant wait till I get a chance to x-ray some of my guns. I curious to see how much better the clarity is compared to these.
Looking at all the names on the pictures, I think they messed up quite a few. The MG-42 is being called the M-60. And visa-versa. |

seems like an opportunity to sell gun-art at gun shows. especially if the prints are nicely framed.

I posted a couple of Veasey's x-rays on ARFCOM and one of Da Boyz counter-posted this x-ray of his AR-15 receivers...
If you're serious about x-raying any of your guns, check with your local welding supply house about x-raying...Same with any auto shops in your area that rebuild engines for race cars...Non-destructive testing is pretty common...
