Found two holes above the trigger bar on a project gun. Does anybody know what these are for? I was planning to plug them before I reblue it (one has a short pin in it already), but it would still be interesting to know why they are there.

Those holes are for the sear safety, you find these on Police Pistols. To be more specific, a Schiwy safety. More reading below:
