Default Units issued Lugers/P O8 in WW2

Up front apology for asking. I have searched the forum and the faq's and cannot find an answer. Perhaps I am wording the search wrong. That being said, can you folks point me to a source of this info? Thanks, Vince

There are no WWII Lugers with unit marks!

I'll rephrase the question. Who were issued Lugers in ww2?

Pits, everyone with a need. Anyone who would be issued a rifle and needed hands free...

There are threads on this, including a German TO&E

In Sturgess' new Luger book on page 860 he starts a discussion about Wehrmacht deployment of Lugers.

He also publishes pages from the October 1, 1937 table of organization and equipment for wartime (army) document. This lays out the requirements for a home area infantry company. 144 rifles and 46 p.08 Luger pistols.

A machine gun company got 100 rifles and 77 p.08 Lugers.

These are two pages extracted from what was surely an extensive document detailing original allocations.

He says that as the army grew, demand for pistols grew even more strongly to support new service branches, with tank and air force units needing a higher pistol quota than artillery.

He also quotes one document uniquely from June to September, 1941 in which OKW chief Keitel allocated pistols: 73% to the Army; 2% to the Navy and 25% to the air force.

Marc, much of this info was in the German language Goertz version, which Sturgess improved upon...

BTW, Bob Adams has a 3 volume set of Sturgess & Goertz for sale. Is that a good reference set?
