Default Original finish?

My guess is no, but I'll admit my own near complete ignorance on Lugers. Color doesn't look right to me. These were provided by a potential seller. All opinions welcome.

Agreed. Although the grips may be originals that someone "chased" the chequering to freshen them.

I'm unclear on the grips. They have the oil stains on the edges that usually come with age, but the checkering looks way too course. It would be interesting to see them in the flesh. But given the finish, the grip issue is academic.

Agreed. I mention the grips as possible originals because of the nice fit with the frame at the sideplate's lower right quadrant. Repops usually are rounded off so there is no need to "fit" this area and are cut off way to soon. These fit nicely but the checkering is clearly not right.

Agreed refinish, what are they asking for it?

Are they stating it is original finish?
