Hello All, Yet another newbie here, that would appreciate any help your willing to offer on a 1939 S/42 Ser #9244 that a friend of mine is offering to sell me, but neither of us know the fair value. I have looked it over & to me, for its age, it looks to be in pretty good condition, with some finish wear at the muzzle end and on the high points. All of the external numbers match, execpt for the two silver mags, The bore looks ok & the grips are intact & look original, but I havent had them off yet. Based on the sticky post I read on this site, it seems that this "may" be a more rare one on the top 10 list. Help! Thanks

I just sold one like you have, but it was in "AS NEW" condition with a matching magazine. I sold it for $2300.00. Hope this helps,

Hi,
If it's all matching (except magazines, with two period magazines) and original finish, about 90% it's probably worth $1500-1750. Can't judge the finish because you used flash in the photos, and it washes things out. Be sure to check the inside of the trigger plate. Should have the number 93 stamped inside. The sharp appearing ridge on the muzzle makes me think it may have been re-crowned. That would detract from value if true.
