Eagles in front of home.
Counted 17 Eagles on beach in front of home this morning. They are getting salmon from Lawson Creek that skirts the beach.

Saw 8 Bald Eagles eating a dead deer just down the road.
They have become quite common in recent years. Near where Illinois and Mississippi rivers join. |

Borrowed that gif from another forum Jerry... maybe Ed Tinker can add it to the available emoticons?

30 or so years ago, my parents came to visit while I was stationed on a ship out of Ketchikan, AK. I took my Dad halibut fishing. The first thing he pulled up was a 20 pound red snapper. Without thinking, I took it off his jig and tossed it back in the water. The incredulous look on his face made me realize that I has just thrown the biggest fish he had ever caught in his life away. Since it was pulled up from 20 or so fathoms, it was still full of air and floating on the water so I maneuvered the boat to go pick it up. Before we got there, a majestic bald eagle swooped down and snatched it from atop the water and flew off towards an island that we were by. Even though he ended up catching a couple of halibut bigger than that, I slipped from favorite son status for quite some time.
Even to this day, that's the first thing I think of when I see a bald eagle. Jack |

I had a bald Eagle do the same thing to a very large cutthroat trout that I had caught in Hunah Ak. and tossed up onto the bank while I was getting out my stringer. I, like your dad, was not impressed with the whole situation. |
