Default 1900 enlistment and record

This is of a US soldier, its a document that tells of his enlistment, his service in the Philippine Insurrection and I picked it up the other day at a antique shop, it is right around the time-frame that the US Luger trials were in action and I just couldn't leave it.

I received a notice of your posting and No, you are right, the test lugers are in 7.65mm, and one of the complaints were that they were too small of a caliber, thus the requirement for the 45 caliber.

My uncle has one just like this framed and hung on his wall. It chronicles his family member's civil war service. If I remember right it's rather large, maybe 20" high?

Yes, I have a civil war one also, it is nice framed in the 1800's I believe and is for a David Fuler, no relation, I just liked it.

Very nice. I tried to magnify but still couldn't tell. Are those Krag rifles?

What a score!! That was a Whole other world that is slowly slipping away. We the collctors must resurrect our past and preserve our future. As result there are each a history a mirror with each we can be proud! Ed I hold you in high in esteem. Preserving and forever carving out our nitch. More importantly helping to understad that each luger mast have lived and owned several owner and may have taken just as many lives! The equalizer back then. If you please may I am inserting the part of our Luger Past! Eric Esq.

Thanks Ed. That is a magnificent document. I can't imagine my DD-214 hanging in an antique shop in 2100 or so, not even the carbon copied ones.

Thanks again

My carbine weighs in at 8 lbs. Got to imagine the rifle is a bit more. The problem is that it for some reason, the weight doubles every half hour out in the woods.
