This is of a US soldier, its a document that tells of his enlistment, his service in the Philippine Insurrection and I picked it up the other day at a antique shop, it is right around the time-frame that the US Luger trials were in action and I just couldn't leave it.

I received a notice of your posting and No, you are right, the test lugers are in 7.65mm, and one of the complaints were that they were too small of a caliber, thus the requirement for the 45 caliber.

My uncle has one just like this framed and hung on his wall. It chronicles his family member's civil war service. If I remember right it's rather large, maybe 20" high?

Thanks Ed. That is a magnificent document. I can't imagine my DD-214 hanging in an antique shop in 2100 or so, not even the carbon copied ones.
Thanks again Jack |
