I would think that if you did it on a curve you would have better results.

I have seen this in black and white in the past and watched it frame by frame and I am not sure if this is real or staged.

If real these guys knew how to take out a train.
What to you think?

Sent this to the agent of the train station where I work as the weekend caretaker. He still hasn't responded as yet.

I got to thinking that maybe he isn't getting that warm and fuzzy feeling about his weekend help since I sent him that.

Perhaps I shall have some visitors this weekend.

I work for the railroad and its a hell of a lot easier to derail a train then that all you need to do is know what you're doing. Find a rail joint and remove the joiner bars, remove about 10 spikes on the inside of the rail, move the rail in toward the center. When the train hits it it will derail guaranteed! Do this at the approach to a bridge and you'll probly take out the bridge at the same time.

You an also undermine the rail bed on one side and when the train hits that it'll roll and cause a hell of a wreck!

In peace time you may have time to do all that compared to placing some explosives and blowing it.

The partisians probably did not want to be in the area any longer than they had to.

Back in the 50's, when I was a lad, we had three rail lines running just beyond the end of our back yard...(We kids used to sit in our cherry tree eating cherries and waving at the people just six feet away in their coach cars)...

We also used to put pennies, nickels, bottlecaps etc on the tracks to flatten them out...make necklaces out of them...

We got caught...railroad detectives at the back door...You'll derail a train doing that!...Do it again and go to jail!...

We stopped...

One day, a concrete mixer stalled on the farthest rail line, on the crossroads...It was full of fresh concrete...train couldn't stop...Hit the truck and pushed it about 100 yards down the track...the spilled concrete was there for another 20 years, at least (they drained it to get the wreckage out)...they took out the rail lines and put in an expressway while I was overseas...

...Didn't hurt the train much at all, IIRC...
