1913 Erfurt unit marking
I recently picked up a 1913 Erfurt P.08 with markings F.F.K.7.8. (small 8) on the front grip strap. Can anyone tell me what they mean? I'm new to the forum. Any help will be appreciated. Pat

Pat, that is one of the rarer unit markings, as Mike says it is a Fortress telephone company. Festungs-Fernsprech-Kompanie Nr 7, Waffe Nr. 8 was part of Telephone Battalion 7 and garrisoned in Mainz. It belonged to XVIII army corps. I would like to know the complete serial number of the Erfurt for my records. I have 1912 Erfurt sn 8586 that is unit marked F.F.K.3.12.
