Default Looking for My First P08

I am looking to purchase my first Luger P08 and have $1200 - $1600 to spend. I want it for more of collection than shooting. Not knowing alot about them, I want to know some thought on which model, yr/yrs I should start with.

That is a pretty tough question to answer as it is very much a personal decision. May I suggest that you cruise the Simpsons, Ltd. guns and see what suits your fancy? On your budget you should be able to land a very nice German military Luger, WW1 or WW2, all matching except magazine. Just focus on buying good quality, and avoid any mismatched numbers (except magazine) or any refinished guns. This forum is a good place to buy good stuff, but you need to narrow your search first. Narrow it down and then we can throw out a few thoughts for your consideration.

Default Buy them books and make them read

Don't forget to purchase a book or three and read...read...read - then buy. you won't regret it.

After a little research and some great advice, I think I will look for something pre 1920(WW1).
