who can repair my luger?

looks like the breechblock is is missing a section on the rim that holds the firing bin spring retainer guide in place (see pic). anyone who can repair this?
this is a mismatched shooter.
your help is greatly appreciated.

What does the retainer do, just pop out or? You have to push it in and then twist it (the 3rd use for the screwdriver / loading tool)

usually from an overload, case fails or primer is punched by High pressure, slams the fireing pin reward and punches out a small retained nub from the breechblock. Cheaper in a shooter Luger to replace the breechblock, check head space, rock on!

I am pretty sure that Tom Heller(Luger Doc) on this forum has some unnumbered breechblocks that are for sale. I don't know of anyone that would/could repair your breechblock, but perhaps someone on the forum knows otherwise.

I really don't see any problem with your breechblock. The channel looks intact and I don't see anything missing. I suspect that perhaps the "ear" on your firing pin spring guide is excessively worn. A much cheaper solution may be available if you swap out this part first and see if it holds within the breechblock. Borrow someone else's and try it.

if you look in the red circle of this pic the rim should be solid with no gap.

The "blown" breech block shown above is not an uncommon problem caused by excess pressure on the FP, which acts as a piston to knock out the missing chunk of the rear of BB. As Thor mentioned above, it will be cheaper on a mismatched luger, to just replace the BB. On a few ocassions on matching lugers, I've had the rear of the BB welded up, but the hard part is getting the excess weld out of the channel in which the retainer turns. TH

I want to thank you all for the information that you have provided.I have exactly five rounds of Winchester white box thru it. I cannot speak for the other owners though. It is presently with a local gunsmith. Depending on what he says, I may sell it or part it out. It may be several weeks before I know anything.
