Another 45 Caliber Luger

I know this is not the 45 Variation everyone has been discussing lately and it does not have that sexy trigger guard, larger frame or different trigger like the Krause Luger. But it still looks interesting and I thought I would bring it up for the new guys that may have not seen it. HUB or Neil Keller of Kustom Ballistics made this little beauty a few years back. Here is the link to the thread. GT and Hugh helped bring this creation to life. I CANT believe it has been about 7 years since this was first posted. In Europe you have the .45 ACP version developed by Nedbal, they made a deal with German gunsmith (and forum member) Herbert Werle, who produces them as well.

Between 9500 and 11,500 Euros. So in the $13,000 - $15,000 range.

Pictures you have posted: are they made from one of your guns ?

45ACP Luger is so hot in the U.S., why didn't Mauser make this variation and export to the U.S. via Interarms? It must be more profitable than making those 9mm's....

Mauser did produce 2 .45 prototypes in the 1970s, but the issues with Interarms and the economic crisis of those days killed them.

45 GAP Luger by Kustom Ballistics, grips by Hugh. Neil only made two, a baby GAP for himself, & a Standard GAP for me. Eat your hearts out!

He WILL NOT make another one, so don't bother asking him!

How about some photos of the internals ? Like the breechblock, Extractor, Ejector, and magazine, and frame work ( without grips ) PLEASE ?

I like a Luger in 45GAP. With regards to frame size it sounds like it would make more sense.

The last pic was taken during construction, notice that the bbl hasn't been blued yet either!

How did I know this question was coming?

One of the reasons Neil said that he wasn't making any more, too labor intensive; he had to make the bbl, breechblock, & magazine.

And I promise you this one i can easily make happen.

Far simpler to do then a 45 ACP from scratch.

It's too bad the .41 Action express is pretty much dead as a cartridge. That cartridge in theory one would think be easily adapatable to the Luger design. Any thoughts?

I don't have anymore pics of it right now. The grip frame had to be widened inside for the wider magazine, the hold open was narrowed to allow the wider breech block to clear. I don't know what other modifications Neil had to make to the frame.

Out of curiosity, how well does the .45 GAP version of the Luger shoot in terms of accuracy and recoil? They're both gorgeous, by the way. Definitely distinctive!
