Hey guys, can anyone help me with this. I am building a matching unnumbered Imperial proofed shooter with armour replacement parts. I am short a few parts like a holdopen, a trigger, a center toggle, a locking bolt and lastly a barrel all unnumbered and proofed only. The barrel is what concerns me. Does anyone know of one unnumbered and only proofed, was there such a thing made and would anyone be able to help me. Mr.Tom Heller my trusted parts man has never seen a barrel like this, would anyone else have any suggestions on the barrel? The other parts I am missing I feel confident will show up someday.

Sam,
My best guess would be to find the barrel in the condition you want with the Imperial stamps and have any other numbers MIG welded to fill them in. Once this is done, the barrel can be reworked to smooth up the welding and then refinished with the rest of the pistol. Most of the major firearms restorers use the Mif welding to fill in pits, stamps, etc. to maintain the original contours of the metal. Just a thought that might help. Marvin |

Doe MIG welding work with rust blue? In other words, does the color of the metal remain consistent between welded spots and the rest of the surface? Thanks.

Don, give ebay a shot, there are almost always barrels and the parts you need posted there, just keep checking about once a week. http://www.ebay.com enter luger into the search block.
