Default missing eagle

Guys...... I know we all have other accents to our German collections besides Lugers and am hoping that I can get a lead on a missing eagle, the top of a large eagle/swastika stand pictured below. I have had this for some time hoping the top half would show up. I am posting this scan on German militaria sites and crossing my fingers.........

Mike, I bet that is some gorgeous Eagle! Got to be out there somewhere? Do you know what the whole sculpture looked like?

Hi Jerry......... yeah, I'm hoping it's out there....... but I have no idea what the eagle looks like, wether it's a straight wing or droop wing......... I've been looking through all the period photos and have never seen anything like it. I have the history on the sculptor but that's it....... : (

God bless ! Mike

I'm guessing straight wing from the position of the claws. Swept or droop winged eagles tended to have their claws grasping different arms of the Swastika, (i.e. Luftwaffe) and had a more action oriented pose. These claws denote an Eagle at rest, somewhat like the SS cap device.

Betting it was melted and reincarnated as a volkswagon or pots and pans long ago.
