Atypical wear.
Can anyone tell me if the marks on this P-08 Mauser are due to abuse or some other cause?

Hi Joe, There's just no way of telling. Sellers typically call blotches like these blood stains, but they could just as easily have been caused by sauerkraut juice. Regards, Norm

How do these marks affect the value? This luger has all serial #s matching, including the mag.

Tough question to answer, Joe, based on just one photo. I'd say that a 1940 or 41 Mauser in 98% condition with a matching mag would be worth $2,000.00 to $2,500.00. My guess is that those blotches would reduce that by at least $500.00. What do my colleagues on the forum say? Regards, Norm
