Is the Toggle code in the last picture a Mauser Banner or DWM Stamping?
I am thinking I see a strawed ejector too?

I think it's DWM. You can almost make out a date on the chamber.

for a few minutes I thought it might have have been a Kreighoff toggle, but after much magnification, I have to say DWM.

Did any of you notice that the toggle is not in battery? The knobs are slightly raised, and you can see what appears to be the base of the cartridge that is in the chamber. The view on the top of the toggle is too direct to see if the extractor is up...

As for the toggle, I'm told that this is one way to get a Luger to shoot blanks. By placing a stud under the toggle elbow, the toggle has the initial "break", which allows blank firing reliably. This would also expose the cartridge base.

Supposedly they gave Gary Cooper a Luger in the Sgt. York movie because they were not able to make a 1911 cycle with blanks at the time.

Most .45 autos you see in the movies are actually 9mm guns, which are easier to blank. They also open up the last inch of barrel to still give the gun that .45 muzzle.

If you recall the opening title scenes of the Magnum PI series, Tom Selleck is shown shoving home a magazine into his pistol. The telltale creases of a 9mm 1911 magazine can clearly be seen.
