Does anyone have the dimensions of an artillery cleaning rod. I have two things in mind--first I want to build a wooden one to keep in my holster to maintain the shape of the rod pocket. Secondly, I want to make a replica that is close to an original. Thanks for any info.
Neil

Okay John, I'm building the cleaning rod now. Should the main part of the rod be blued?

Okay, I finished the cleaning rod. All of the dimensions are very close to the original plans except the slot in the lower end of the rod. It calls for 2mm (0.079"), but the only slot cutter that I have is 0.100". For a difference of 0.021", I decided to live with it and not buy a special cutter. I am attaching a few photos.

Thanks Guys.
Joe--the handle was built from scratch--see photos John--I really enjoyed building it, but if you were to build a bunch of them, then it becomes a job and I'm retired. So, I'm not taking orders. Neil
