Default GT Specialties

I am really excited about the products of magazines and hopefully grips soon that GT is working on. Nice to have him produce really quality products for us!

Default Alum. bottoms

Hello and thanks to all my friends and customers who have had me make Luger mag bottoms and mag tune up assemblies for them... Andy's mags are a good example of about as good as custom work as I can do... .... And, Ted is correct, I've got several projects in the fire that should make our P.08 shoot'en sport and hobby a little more fun! ........ Yes, grips are on the front burner, but I'm as slow as molasses in January! But, as I said before, "If you're moving, you ain't stuck!" Thanks again, and best to all, til....lat'r....GT

WOW those mag bottoms are very impressive. Can they be distinguished from the Type 3 originals, besides the issue of wear?

The magazine is based on on MecGar tubes, GT added a different spring, made the aluminium bottoms and numbered them according to the gun.

They can be distinquished from a Type II Army Issue Magazine in that they do not have Army Acceptance markings, that is E/63. E/83 pr E/655 (E=Eagle) Ref Jan C Still Third Reich Lugers page 125-126 Also the thumb piece is nickel plated on the originals not blued. BUT OUTSTANDING nice mags for sure!

Hey GT, how about a couple of pics of these , one with DWM type bottom and one with Erfurt Bottom to show the difference in how they are made?

G.T. just did an absolutely beautiful job of restoring my Imperial era magazine. It had a severely broken and mutilated wooden base with the period markings. I asked Gerry to fix it if he thought that was the right thing to do and if not, then to replace the base. He repaired it, even though I know that it took him much more time than it would have to replace it. Hopefully you can see what a good job it is from the attached before and after photos. A little bit of history was preserved.

Thanks G.T.

Neil

GT..That's incredible! Really nicely done Sir! I tip my hat to you! I don't recommend very many people but I have no hesitation when it comes to Gerald Tomek.

Neil, Thanks for showing us your mag.

What an amazing repair job. GT you should be in the museum curio and relic restoration business!

Default Effort!!!

Hi Guys, and Thanks to all for the kind words! I really enjoy trying to save original mag bottoms when possible... Every one is a new challange. It is far easier to replace them, but, I know that there is no replacement for the original item, and so, a little job, sometimes turns into a big quest! The more i do, the better they will get... Thanks again to all for your business, and trust! best to all, til...lat'r....GT...

Since GT is now retired and doing the mag repair business full time, I encourage our members to support his projects, as his repairs are THE BEST. i do continue to stock his mag parts (HD springs, spring guides, pins, follower buttons, FXO black plastic bottoms with pins, and all varieties of wood bottoms --- plain, Cal, 9m/m or Germany marked, Navy concentric circle type and a few with the Swiss metal insert) for sale separately without installation or tube repair at his recommended prices.
