I picked up this holster some time ago and would like some of the usual info. on it, approx. date of mfg, commercial or gov't. issue, current market valuation, what date/mfg. of Luger belongs inside of it, etc.
This is a black leather P08 holster with the police style strap. There is no date observed. On the back is the stamped # of 5805, with no other markings noted on the outside. Inside of the cover is marked in ink "Hofler-u.Ledor??????????brik.Zeitz " and S. L. V. Saele" and Zeitz" Also and overstamp of "767" and an amateur ink mark of "HK" with those 2 letters being combined. Condition is about average, no damage but showing use. As always, thank you for your wisdom. DJU |

Hi David, Your Hofler is actually Koffer, luggage. In the alphabetical list of holster makers by town, there is one listing for Zeitz: Albin Scholle, Lederwarenfabrik. Hope this helps. Regards, Norm

Normally i would say pre-WW2 but post 1926, but like Klaus said, most likely post war. Notice it has no tool pouch.
