Default Correct finish on original DWM grips

When they left the factory, did the DWM grips have a shiny finish, or were was the finish flat? I put a light coat of tung oil, thinnned with turpentine, on some Nill grips, and it left a kind of semi-flat or semi-gloss finish, which doesn't seem correct to me. Thanks.

Default

Don,

The grips originally had a Tung oil or similar finish. They would have had a dull satin hue to them. After prolonged handling it becomes a soft burnished shine from body oil and gun oil.
