To each their own. Too much for my taste. The arms of the period have a presence spoiled by engraving. I say this not to diminish the engraver's art; clearly the person who did that work was a master. My hat is off to his skill. It just isn't for me.

Some of the Mauser factory engraved pieces are agreeable but I've never been a big fan of engraved arms of any type.
