Hi all,

Apologize if i'm writing bad, i'm french...

I have founded this Luger in my grand father house, all parts have the same serial number 7065, can you tell me much about it? and i've found too, cartridges like this(pictures) are they fine for my Luger, not too hard?

Welcome to the forum.

You have a beautiful 1921 Reichswehr Army contract DWM Luger. Can you post the photos directly to the forum, so that we may see the details better?

It is unit marked to Company 2 / Kraftfahr-Abteilung 7 weapon 66. A "Truck Driver" detachment. The Army contracted for approx. 10,000 1920-1921 Lugers, making them fairly scarce. The serial number on the front of the frame should be followed by the letter a,b or no letter.

That I'm not sure about. Any post 1921 military ammunition would be correct, since this Luger was most probably used through WWII.

About the ammunition. It is difficult to say, without the proper packaging, if the rounds will be safe to use in a pistol. My advice is: get a new, sealed box of ammunition if you want to be on the safe side.

Since it is impossible to look inside the round, you may find out that the powder has deteriorated, that someone reloaded them with god knows what or that they are over pressure rounds for sub machinegun or test use.

There is a good chance that the only person the gun will harm is the shooter itself.

What are the markings on the magazine? That`s not original to the pistol.

The magazine isn't original, it's a 1938 in the picture!
