Can any one tell me what these markings mean? They are on the bottom of the barrel of my 1938 S/42 Mauser, ser. # 289 i.

They read: ZDF SLC UT P-08 9mm GER

It's an import mark, put there as per BATF regulation. ZDF(?) in Salt Lake City , UT. P-08 (Luger) 9mm (caliber) GER (GERMANY)
