Need some advice regarding this gun that someone has offered for sale. It is a 1913 Dated Erfurt, no unit markings, but does have a shoulder stock lug. The references state that a 1913 with stock lug is much rarer. does anyone know? It has one matching clip, and period dated holster. About 90-95% condition. asking price $2000.00
Thanks for any help! Best Regards Tim |

Tim, Man this must be some fine pistol! The Blue Book of Gun Values gives the 1913 pistol a top dollar value of $850.00 for 98%. The stock lug version is not rare enough to add another $1200.00 in my opinion. I have observed them on a regular basis over the years. Keep looking, this guy is trying to rip you off. Jerry Burney

If you are using the Blue Book for pricing, it indicates that you should add 20% for a matching magazine. The pistol also has a period holster which would have to be judged on it's own merits. My own estimate for the value of the pistol as described would be in the $1100/1200 range.
I agree that the stock lug is not particularily rare, but is a scarce variation if you wanted both variations for your collection. |

Johnny, That is about what it should be as a guestimate on the whole package. I suppose one could make an offer with this in mind. Jerry Burney

I would be a little cautious of the finish of this Luger. Erfurt did not harden their guns as much as DWM. That is why the bluing did not hold up as well. Take a close look to see it it has been refinished.
