Given Luger today
My Father is getting older and decided to give me my great uncle's Luger today. Uncle Joe supposedly picked this up during WWII? (true or not I don't know)?
Can anyone tell me anything about it? I don't want to sell it but a ball park value would also be nice. Pics are worth a 1000 words so here goes. |

Hi Brad, You have a nice Luger made by Mauser ( byf ) towards the end of 1941. It looks to be worth about $200.00. Regards

A nice collectable Luger, congrats If you haven't found out yourself, byf indicates that it's made my Mauser and 41 is the year. It's an early production, so it probably didn't come with that bakelite mag.

I'm sorry, Morgan, but this gun is one of the last produced in 1941 and a black bottomed mag. is correct. It is one of only 4,000 41s with E/135 inspection marks. Regards, Norm

Hi Guys, Norme is spot on! The Luger was completed in December 1941. The black bottom magazine is correct. The value is $200 x 10 or so. Brad, congratulations on a very nice present!!
