Mark,

With the economy the way it is, I would look around. I think it's at maximum a $500 pistol, in my opinion...

Mark,

Fire a $600 shot at this one (see link). It's got reblued parts, but all in all not a bad gun. It needs grip screws, and one grip panel, but Tom Heller 'lugerdoc' can help you out with them at a reasonable price, I'm sure. Also, the frame is an early pre-1913 Imperial without the stock lug, or it has been removed. Ask the seller some questions and ask about the bore condition.

I agree with Ron,offer $600 if the bore is good! Also it does have the stock lug. Ron is getting old and his eyesight is not what it once was. With my magnifing glass I could clearly see the stock lug. Bill

Hi Bill,

They all start looking a like after a few years.

"Ha! You guys kill me."

Mark,

The Ward gets kind of hectic on Mondays. What with the Medication shortage and all...

thats a nice luger for a shooter id say is a good deal for 600 700 but the grips look a little fake ,, hey i see you live in louisiana ,, im in new orleans looking to get rid of a luger for a pretty cheap price because of economic times... ive shot it a few times but i wouldnt say its a shooter because its all matching parts etc. from 1941 .. i got a pic if u wanna look

A bore can be in "poor" condition and still shoot very well. Obviously a nicer bore is best, but I personally don't believe that 'frosting" / "slight pitting" is going to be seen by the average shooter / plinker.

"Anyway, do I really need stock lugs on a non-collectable plinker?"

Mark,

Not at all. In fact they are useless on a 4" Luger anyway, since it's illegal to attach a stock to one.

I was just pointing it out as a bargaining chip. It isn't the original frame to a 1921 dated Luger, whether the seller claims it matches or not.

Mark,

If you like it? Give it a bid, but I'll bet his reserve is going to be more than $600. Although it shouldn't be.

Mark,

I do like the 1921 better, but it's just my preference. Mainly because, although it has some refinished parts. It is more original than the Bulgarian. If you can get the other one for your price, by all means, bid on it. I'm not trying to persuade you, just offering my advice, which is worth extactly Zitlch to anyone but me.
