1941 byf Black Widow Serial number N Suffix
I am attempting to purchase my first Luger. I decided upon a Black Widow. I found one on gunbroker in 98% condition for $2,650.00. The serial number is 2867 N. The two unnumbered magazines are fxo black bottomed. The hard shell holster is jkh/41, Eagle WaA280. The tool is Eagle/655 proofed. From reading posts about the Black Widow variation it seems that this pistol is too early to be a true Black Widow. Can you give me any imput on this Luger?

Anttom, if you are looking at an auction by jlh409, the serial number is 2867p, NOT 2867n. The suffix is quite frequently in error. It is difficult to know the difference unless you've seen them side by side.
Regarding the black Bakelite Grips, there is a difference of opinion as to the correctness. My opinion is they should not be original before the "U" Block of the 41 byf Lugers. Some folks disagree with me. You decide for yourself. |
