Default A quick thanks... And...

It's a small world... Yesterday, I had the distinct honor and pleasure of meeting someone who - for almost a decade - has helped grow this site. He has always been here - through thick and thin. In fact - he was on this forum as a "start-up" and one of the main reasons that I've (almost) kept my sanity for so many years....

Mr. John Sabato..?

It was indeed my honor and pleasure to meet you after so many years for the first time.

And as I said - my sincerest thanks for all you do, Sir. In fact - since the reasons are personal to you why you were "up my way" - that you were, and that "you do what you do" - makes the reason we "do all this" just a little clearer...

John - thank you!

John

clear as mud, but he's a heck of a nice guy.

Perhaps "too" honest and trustworthy traits no man can be faulted for, AND a man I call my friend

John, like you, I've never met John S, just talked via the phone.

Default Finally !

Thanks for all the kind and generous words guys... be assured you are also on my list of friend "keepers" along with many who may not have seen this posting yet... you know who you are!

I was the one who was "armed" with a camera when John D. and I finally met face to face after MORE than ten years supporting this forum (John D.'s memory is not what it used to be).

It was indeed my honor to stop by and finally get to shake hands on my way home returning from the 64th Annual Reunion of the 9th Infantry Division Association in Bangor Maine... what a great place, and a great trip! More about that another time...

Below is the actual proof that John D. and I finally met...

(He told me that he didn't want his photo publicized... so I photoshopped a generic and more handsome face over his in this photo! )

Aww shoot.. Thanks Mauro!!

Honestly - in my view - this forum would never exist unless there were folks like you on it - so rather - my thanks right back to you for your years of support and all you do here...

To G.T., Wylon and yes - even you Ed.. Honestly? I'm a richer person for knowing you.. Bill - you are the only person I have never met in person - but I hope to have the pleasure someday. G.T. and Ed are wonderful folks - and I suspect you are cut from the same cloth...

To John..??? Dayem... It really has been that long?? Yea - I guess it has... And yep - they say the memory goes after a few other things - but I can't remember what those are - or were?? In any event...

John - when I said it was an honor to finally meet you - I meant it. You Sir - have been with me and this Forum since day "1". Its growth, success - hard times, fun times - all the times - as are to much your credit as they are mine. You Sir - is what this forum is all about. I think sometimes - we all lose sight of that - but then - we look at the impact worldwide - and know that's the case...

That's to your credit - and all the folks (read above)... This forum is special. The folks here made it their community - and that was their choice. Your choice was to make them feel invited and welcomed.

And you have done that same thing - year after year.

You have my respect, Sir. And more so..

Simply my thanks...

Thank you John.

John
