Default Identification of 30 Luger

Here is the second one. Thanks again!

The barrel is 3&5/8" or 3&3/4"

There is no mark where the date stamp should be. I found no marks on the right side at all.

This is a fairly decent example of a alphabet commericial luger, the proof on the left is correct for this type, as is the export marking of Germany. Commericials would not have a date stamp.

These 30 lugers (aka 7.65mm) are not as valuable as a military one and then with the etching on the left, it devalues it even more. Probably more than a shooter, but worth around $500-$650, maybe a bit more?

What would you estimate for the date on this one?

Since the Alpha Commerical began in the "i" suffix block in about 1921, probably made shortly there after. You will usually find the 7.65mms with either 95 or 98mm long barrels. I believe the wood mag bottom is one of GT's excellent reproductions, that I sell @$40 each. TH

Default I'm wondering

What is that etching for? Maybe a gun registration mark?
