military marked commercial luger?
I have a luger in my gun collection that I was hoping you could give me some information on. I have taken it to several gun shops and they don't seem to know much about it. I know a few things, but not being a luger collector it is only the the general info.
It is a commercialy marked DWM luger with the crown N proof marks on the barrel, frame, and toggle. It has matching numbers (in the hidden places) through out including a matching Haenel-Schmeiser aluminum bottom magazine. The chamber is unmarked. The gun has at least 95% of its original commercial bluing and about 50% of the straw coloring. It also has a sear safety. This gun is not import marked and is 9mm The gun has unit markings of L.H.36 on the front strap and the Weimar eagle over WAa66 on the right side of the receiver. Can anyone tell me what this gun is? What do the unit markings stand for? A value? Any info is appreciated. I realize that it may be hard to do without a picture, but my camera went KAPLOOEY!!! |

David,
Is the c/N on the left receiver on its side, or upright? Could you report the full serial number with letter suffix (if present)? --Dwight |

The crown N is upright and the serial number is 36xx with a t suffix.
Hope this helps. |
