Default Help ID Friend's Luger

A friend of mine asked me to help him ID this Luger. It belonged to his late father a WWII vet. I do not know much about the lugers, but I was hoping that I might find some help here. I have attached a link to some photos.

Thanks for the help

We actually prefer you to post the pictures here; however, welcome to the forum!

It is a nickled 1937 (year) S/42 (Mauser) and the nickle was likely done just after the war; a nickled one like this is worth around $450-$550

Forgot to mention that he also has a holster for it, does this change anything?

yes, depends on if the holster is an original military or if cut down etc.

cut down, worth $50-$75; if original and in ok shape, $125, if in reaqlly nice shape, maybe $250

everything depends on type, year, color, and IF a luger holster and not another type, etc.

Is there an extra magazine or tool in the pouch?

Not sure. He mentioned that he has a holster, but I have yet to see it. When I find out I will post.

Thanks again
