Hello....I'm new to the forum and have a few questions, please. I have a 1938 S42 serial number 181 in very good condition. The serial numbers are constant throughout with a 181 and what looks like a script "d" unter the barrel. The left grip is a little loose, no number on the face of the tab on the left side, asnd an import mark "Cole Distributors" on the right side. Can anyone tell me the approx value. The mag does not have a number on it. Thanks

Hi Josh, if you can post pictures that would be helpful. It is hard to put a value on a Luger without seeing it.
S/42 means your Luger was made by Mauser. The Script "d" is a suffix letter. So your Serial number is 181 d. IMO the import mark would reduce the value of your Luger. |

Josh, A few year back, Gary Cole imported a batch of E. German reworked lugers. Your's may be one of those. TH
