Default Are Dummy Rounds Safe To Fire?

Hello all,
I'm a new member, first of all I want to say this forum is great. I was a bit anxious about buying a Luger, after all it's an old gun and the people at the local gunrange will probably not know too much about it, but this forum gave me the confidence I'm not alone

Anyway, I am about to receive my Luger in December, and I am preparing for it as good as I can by reading a lot. Now, I understand one of the big NONOs is dryfiring.

I found a set of dummy rounds at Brownell's (can't find the link anymore but it was from them) and these cartridges are 9mm Luger, so they should fit. However, they have no solid brass or any material where the primer is supposed to be, there's a hole, that's all.

My question is, is it ok to fire the gun with this ammunition or will the firepin go too far forward without a primer dummy? Should I use this only to check the feed?

Thanks

I would recommend a brand name of snap cap called "A-Zoom". The dummy primer was made of nylon which never dents and absorbs impact energy of firing pin very well.

Many sportsman in my area know "Luger". It's defined as a handgun with exposed barrel and no wheel.
