Default 1943 Luger holster question

Since I have not received any replies on my question in Luger Accessories Forum, I figured out it was either because it was wrong Forum for my thread or the holster is indeed rare, but I decided to give it another try on Holster Forum, so my question is:

How rare is this DLU 1943 holster among 1933-45 German Army accepted holsters?

I think you did not get an answer because unlike luger variations, there are few collectors who have scores of luger holster, especially "certain" types of holsters; as there were scores of makers if not more.

I am sure there are certain folks who collect holsters but doubtful that there are enough folks who have variations that can say if this is a "rare" variation or not. That said, you can look up the code of DLU and know who the maker was.

My feeling is that it is rarer than say a 1941, as 1943 holsters were made towards the end of lugers being made.

But that does not make it nessacarily rare or more desirable....

Ed,

Thank you for reply. I looked into Eugene Bender's book and found out that John Pearson had one, made by same manufacturer, different WaA, so I called Mr. Pearson who was very friendly and eager to help, and he answered all my questions about this holster.
