How accurate is Aarron Davis' book?

It is a bit difficult to find many books on Lugers that is still being printed today. I often use Amazon's services and ordered a book by Aarron Davis called Standard Catalog of Lugers (2006).
Overall, it seemed like a good start to study on Lugers. After reading the first 10 pages or so I skimmed the rest. My question is whether the information on different lugers is accurate for beginners like me and also veteran collectors.

Here's a review done by Dwight Gruber posted on Jan's forum. Dwight does an excellent job on his reviews. He has several others if you're so inclined.

Wow, thanks...

Guess I have lots more research to do. The good thing about this book is it actually listed different types of Luger. When reading through this and other Luger forums I had only a vague idea of what people were talking about. At minimum, this book pointed me in the general direction.

It has a lot of repeat and older information, but it is not a bad start to find something. However, there are inaccuracies, such as the Simson section he keeps stating there were 11,000 made, but he says that in each area and there were only around 12,000 made of all Simson toggle AND S toggle, plus many reworks are just that reworks with Simson toggles, not new made Simson's.

For around $10 not a bad place to start, but many inaccuracies. I perfer to recomment "Lugers at Random" which has been around since the 1970 @ about $60, but since most luger collectors have a copy, one that is easy to reference to others. You will find some conficting data between all luger books, so read them all and decide your self which "theories" are most logical. Lugerdoc
