Default PPK question

I just recently purchased a Nickel PPK Eagle/C police pistol. The gun has 2 piece black grips and I was wondering if this is common or an after market occurence. I have seen many with the brown bakelite grips but I wasn't sure if thats the only grips they ever came with or if in fact a set of 2 piece black ones could be original.

Thanks,
-Hunter

This is a question that you MIGHT get an answer for here if you post some photos... but the better bet would be to check out our sister forum...

P38forum.com which also deals with the other walther pistols... there are experts there that can tell you as much about your pistol as is known.

You will find many of our members over there as well, as the forum is operated by none other than our gracious benefactor John D.

Hunter,

The Germans never nickeled service pistols. This was a G.I. dress up thing to do. I've got a German contract 7.65 Astra 300 in perfect condition except that it's been nickeled. Makes a great shooter, but the value is lost.
