Default The Treatment of Heroes

I have posted the link to this Daily Mail story about the unconscionable treatment of fallen heroes as a favor to our friend TACfoley in the UK, who is so upset about the content of this article (and I can't say that I blame him), that he couldn't post it himself...

When you see a young (or old) person in military uniform, step up, shake his or her hand, and thank them for their sacrifice and service to defend our freedom, and the freedoms of innocents wherever they serve...

THEY DESERVE NOTHING LESS. My hat is off to Canadian Citizens, our close neighbor to the north, who has the pride in her fallen heroes to treat them with the respect they deserve on their last journey.

As someone who served for 24 active duty years in the Army, this story makes me cry. I can't begin to think what is going thru the minds of Britons to allow this to happen. And what about the families---how they must feel!! But, what about our own returning dead who come into Dover AFB and there is no press coverage/pictures/nightly news stories due to the policy of our current adminsitration. Our hands could be cleaner. However, these comments are not meant to take away any sense of shame that Britons should feel about their particular situation.

And this is as much a dis-honor to our fallen soldiers as what is happening in the U.K.

Their reasoning is that it may turn public opinion against the war to see the dead. Well , so be it. They are the ones responsible and seem not to want to be reminded of that fact.
