Default Is it safe to keep a pistol in a holster?

Can I safely keep a pistol in a leather hardshell holster, or will it rust?

Store them separately. It,s not good for either one of them.

Personal experience . . . . ruined a nice little PPK by leaving it in a leather holster for a few months. Hard lesson.
