Colt Detective Specials?
I notice that there was a lot of collector interest here in the Colt .32 auto.
What about the Colt Detective Special? I have one, in .32 Smith and Wesson. Oops, I mean, .32 Colt New Police! Jim |

Pretty pieces!
Very pretty, Hugh!
I see that you like 3" barrels! Such would probably be a good compromise between a "concealed carry" and a "service" pistol. Jim |

My two newest 38 Detective Specials, the 3" bbl is fairly rare and in nickel even rarer, still looking for one in 32:

Beauties!
Hugh, those are two beautiful pieces!
How do you like the 3" barrel as compared with the 2" as a shooting piece? Jim |

I prefer them, I believe the longer bbl helps me aim better, although it is surprising how accurate the 2" guns can be at 25-30 yds.

3" might be a good choice!
I have only one Detective Special, a 2" .32.
I also have 2 S&W Bodyguard 2-inchers, both .38's. Maybe I'll trade one of those three in, for a Colt 3": the slighty bigger and heavier frame of the DS, and with a longer barrel, should hold down the recoil of the .38, and make it a much better shooting piece than the Bodyguards. Jim |
